MugSearch is Cal-Photo and ANSI/NIST-ITL compliant, meeting all the requirements defined by the National Law Enforcement Technology Standards Committee for the capture, search, and retrieval of images and information associated with the images. This, with the use of an ODBC compliant database and JPEG image compression gives agencies the ability to exchange information with virtually any non proprietary system in the world.

MugSearch has the flexibility to automatically build a lineup around a specific known suspect or based on witness provided descriptive information, allowing for an unlimited number of search data points to be used. When creating a line up around a known suspect MugSearch gives the user a ONE BUTTON query build capability. Lineups are automatically created based on an automatic selection of images which meet the search criteria. Or, using a drag and drop technique, the user has the ability to discard any of the images and specifically select images to be used in the lineup. MugSearch saves the lineup and links it to the appropriate case management record, providing the ability to have multiple line-ups per case record.

 Once a suspect has been identified, a WANTED poster can be created and the images or poster can be sent to other agencies or newspapers, using fax, e-mail or internet sites.

Case Management

MugSearch Case Management provides a complete and easy to use tool for investigators to organize and track all activities that support their open investigation.

An officers entire case load, INCLUDING CRIME SCENE PHOTOS can be managed using the case management features. A security log tracks each entry in the case, maintaining the integrity of the original photos. All enhancements or changes are recorded and the changed image is noted by type and number.

Information about witnesses, interviews, and case notes identifying characteristics & associations can be recalled and reviewed at any time. Suspect records &  information can be dynamically linked to an open or suspended case. Queries and line-ups, once created remain part of the case history indefinitely.

To minimize data entry effort & reduce redundancy, information entered in other programs can be electronically moved to the appropriate fields in MugSearch.

Image Management

The systems imaging capability provides for multiple view mug shots; capturing an unlimited number of images per booking.

In addition, MugSearch captures images of scars, marks and tattoos and links the data to the booking record. Any image in the system is available and can be used on agency forms, reports, email, or web pages with predefined call scripts.

A particularly powerful feature of MugSearch is the systems ability to modify the size and exposure of an image.
